I STAND FOR ... 6th Grade Language Arts
Standing up for what you believe is not always easy. An informed citizen of the world bases his or her beliefs on facts and an unbiased perspective. Sixth graders explored a variety of important issues and then decided what they believe in. Groups chose their own topics and tackled such issues as using animals to test cosmetics and medicines, the death penalty, global warming, conservation and the greening of America, animal kill shelters, and nuclear energy. PLEASE VIEW THEIR POWER POINT PRESENTATIONS. In addition to these presentations, students wrote persuasive essays about their topics and sent letters to those people who might have the power to affect change.
